Royal Aberdeen Golf Club was founded in 1780 and is the 6th oldest golf club in the world. The Course was originally designed by the Simpson Brothers, Archie and Robert of Carnoustie and later re-bunkered and lengthened by James Braid to ensure the classic links kept pace with the modern game. A unique point of interest, in 1873 they are probably responsible for trying to speed up pace of play with the 5-minute rule looking for a golf ball…if only that was adhered to today!
