The European Club was designed by the last great links designer Pat Ruddy and opened in 1993. Regarded as the toughest test in Irish Golf, the demanding layout features unique touches such as railway sleepers to define the bunkers, views over the Irish sea and 20 holes. Mr. Ruddy lived on site and was a regular greeter of Irish and International guests and this certainly added to the golfing experience. I’ve been privileged to play here with family and friends many times and it’s one of the nicest arse whooping’s you will ever receive!! As of 2027, the European Club will re-open under new ownership and will be a must play for all visitors to Ireland.
